Don Sawyer lives and works in Destin, Florida near the white sands and clear emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico which has greatly influenced his art. Don is best described as expressionistic colorist. He developed his own very unique style based on his extensive studies of the painting of Van Gogh, Monet, Renoir, and Gauguin. His innovative juxtaposition of bright complimentary colors gives tension, movement, and impact to his subjects.
